2025 Annual Budget
Treasurer Gary See presented the proposed budget, highlighting increased costs associated with Phoenix-based inter-club tournaments. The inter-club group now requires a $5 fee per attendee and a donation of three cans of balls per tournament. These expenses have been incorporated into the budget.
The board proposed increasing annual dues from $20 to $25 to offset rising costs. The membership voted and approved both the budget and the dues increase.
Facilities Update
President John Milliard provided an update on the proposed viewing area between courts 2 and 3. The HOA requires an official architect’s drawing and detailed pricing; however, the club determined that hiring an architect would exceed budget constraints.
John will construct a prototype wind screen roll-up device for evaluation. If successful, the club will request HOA approval for installation at all viewing areas.
Tennis Clinics
The Tuesday/Friday clinics led by Dennis Winders continue to be successful. Bonnie Milliard reported increased participation following publicity on “Next Door” and Facebook. The $3 clinic fee supports equipment and maintenance.
New Tournament Opportunities
Discussions are ongoing with Saddlebrook, Mission Royale, and Palm Creek tennis clubs regarding joint tournaments. Larry Haisting has contacted Saddlebrook’s tennis director, who responded positively.
New Business
Nancy Nesbitt proposed installing an ice machine near the courts for player injuries. John and Gary will investigate feasibility.
