This page lists the requests that have been made to change a feature or function of the web site. Some changes, such as typographical errors, can be made very quickly and easily. Other changes may require a major overhaul or.or may require a function that is not available within the Google Sites suite of tools and will not be implemented due to time or budget constraints.
The following is a list of requested changes made during the Web Site Meeting – 3:00 in the Laredo Room – Feb. 1, 2023--(notes made by Pauline Graham during the meeting)
The web site URL – To be sent to members once online – RRTennis.net – possibly.
Bill Christopherson said that he knew of a person who was extremely knowledgeable about web design. I met with Bill the next day and he said he contacted someone who would help me with the link to the club URL.
John Millard asked how the sign up of courts will work when certain times and days are currently in use for club activities so non-members know to not schedule those courts and times. All groups pre-scheduled play is listed on the home page to prevent issues.
This is a complicated design change that involves multiple web-based software capabilities that cannot normally be linked together and are outside my (Larry) capabilities. It could likely be done by contracting a web site design company but may be outside the club's budget restraints. The current work-around (already mentioned on the web site) is to consult the club calendar before attempting to schedule a court..
David Rafeedie suggested back drop color be blue instead of yellow
The current web site header color and design was selected from free artwork generally available on the web. Yellow was selected because it is close to the color of a tennis ball. Yellow was also automatically available as a free Goole Sites "theme color" and was easily incorporated into several areas of the web site. Changing to another color would require a fairly major web site overhaul.
Pattie LaCroix asked if we could come up with a method to enable members to [visually] check the [condition of the] court prior to a scheduled match for condition such as too wet. John Milliard added that perhaps a camera could be instally that had a view of the courts.
A live camera would require an internet connection and a power source close the camera and that cost would either have to come from the club budget or from Robson Ranch. Bill Christopher suggested that our web site be connected to a currently available weather site for Robson Ranch. This feature has now been implemented on our site: (see the new option under the "Scheduling" tab.
Bob Graham": How do we know if a non-member has scheduled a court that I want to schedule?
Currently ONLY club members are able to access the web-based calendar, so until non-members are able to access the web site they will still need to access the club bulletin board outside the sprots club.
Bob Graham: Need to get the Robson HOA tennis button linked to our web site and other changes made to the data there.
Email sent to Nicole McCracken to make the changes on the HOA website on 2/17/23.
